Twain Harte, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept..”We received a call from a very observant citizen who noticed a suspicious truck at their neighbor’s vacation cabin on Superior Drive. The man driving the truck had gotten it stuck in the driveway due to the snow. Deputies arrived on scene at 7:49 and the man took off running. One Deputy gave chase as the other paralleled the action in a patrol SUV. The man ran through an occupied house and out the front door as a Deputy closed in on him. Both Deputies reunited in the patrol SUV and caught up the man just as he flagged down a Jeep.
He jumped in the passenger side of the Jeep. The Jeep driver was threatened with a gun (later determined no gun had been involved, just a finger gun) and told to flee from the responding Deputies. The driver saw the emergency lights and disabled the vehicle which rolled to a stop.
33-year-old Kasey Questo was taken into custody and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail. The truck Questo managed to get stuck in the snow was stolen. He was in the process of trying to steal a trailer from the cabin.
Questo’s fresh charges from this morning include possession of a stolen vehicle, attempted grand theft, carjacking, kidnapping, and resisting arrest.
He was also booked on eight arrest warrants. Those associated charges include felony resisting arrest, failing to appear in court, traffic violations, drug charges, and more theft related charges to name a few.”
