Sonora, CA…The Mother Lode Office of Catholic Charities in collaboration with Area 12 Agency on Aging, Tuolumne Band of Me Wuk Indians Elders and Social Services Programs, and Tuolumne County Behavioral Health will present the Elder Abuse Awareness & Prevention Conference on Wednesday, June 17th at The Hotel & Conference Center at Black Oak Casino from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
This information filled event will feature Paul Greenwood, San Diego County Deputy District Attorney V, Head of Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit and Tuolumne County Deputy District Attorney and Elder Abuse Prosecutor, Eric Hovatter.
Afternoon breakout sessions facilitated by local experts will include Internet Scams and Financial Safety; Medication Safety and Wellness; Law Enforcement and Adult Protective Services; and Wills, Trusts, and other Legal Concerns.
Booths with local agency information will be available and a continental breakfast and lunch as well as continuing education units will also be available.
Doors will open at 8:00 am for check-in and the Conference will begin at 8:45 with guest speakers and informative presentations. The breakout sessions will begin at 1:30.
