Vallecito, CA…Due to the tremendous success of yard waste collection at the Red Hill Annex, driven in part by the need to clear lots for fire protection, the sheer volume of yard waste has overwhelmed the permitted capacity of the site. Therefore, effective June 9th, 2015, the Red Hill yard waste collection area will be temporarily closed while we work to improve the site. We are anticipating reopening the site in July.
This temporary closure will not affect operations at any other County facilities.
 Yard waste will continue to be accepted at Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility, Wilseyville
Transfer Station & Yard, and at Miller Rock & Wood.
 Appliances, electronics, tires, batteries, oil, antifreeze or filters can be taken to the
Gambi Disposal in San Andreas or the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility.
 Latex paints can be taken to the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility.
 Please refer to the County website at www.CalaverasRecycles.org for restrictions on
transportation and disposal of hazardous and universal waste.
