Jamestown, CA…On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at approximately 1100 hours, a 2007 Kia Sportage, driven by Marian Shinko, 80 years old, of Walnut Creek, was traveling eastbound on SR 120, east of Tulloch Road. Due to her unsafe speed for the wet roadway surface she was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control of her vehicle. Her vehicle traveled into the center median where it collided with a tree and overturned. The vehicle caught fire and a passing motorist stopped and extricated her from the vehicle. Mrs. Shinko was unresponsive and the motorist started CPR. Mrs. Shinko was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics. She was the solo occupant and impairment is not know at this time, pending autopsy.
