While you’re in La Grange, look for the Adobe Barn located at the east end of town just past the windmill. The oldest structure in the area, it was a landmark when French sailors found gold in 1848. They settled here and named their town La Grange, “the barn”. The La Grange Museum docents can tell you more about the adobe structure and restoration plans. The Museum is open Sundays 11am to 3pm.
