Sonora, CA…From the Sonora Police Dept…On Wednesday, just after 8:30 a.m., Sonora Police Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Stewart Street for a call involving a male subject who was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the area.

Officers arrived on scene and identified the subject as 22-year-old Jacob Hoskins of Sonora. After further investigation, Officers learned that Hoskins exhibited a homemade trident type weapon at residents of a nearby residence. Hoskins knew the occupants of the home and had been knocking on their door since about 7:30 a.m. that morning.

At one point after residents exited the home, Hoskins removed a trident-shaped yard ornament from the property and aggressively displayed it towards them.

Hoskins was taken into custody and booked for Brandishing a Deadly Weapon in a threatening manner.
