Eagle Meadows, CA…Check out Caltrans crews’ progress clearing 9,623′ Sonora Pass on KCRA 3 tonight. Reporter Will Heryford joined us for a ride along to document seasonal clearing on this scenic route. Once the snow is cleared, there is lots of other work that needs to be done. Prior to opening the roadway for public use, the pavement is repaired, cracks are sealed and the roadway is re-striped. The foremost guiding principle in these procedures is to maintain public and worker safety.
