West Point, CA…The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is conducting a prescribed burning operation on the Winton Vegetation Management Program (VMP) site, (6 miles east of West Point on Lilly Gap road). This prescribed burn is designed to reduce fuels on the VMP in conjunction with CAL FIRE employees and Cooperators.

The prescribed fire burn will commence at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8th and will conclude on Wednesday, May 9th. Burning operations will be conducted from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Resources utilized to conduct the prescribed fire will consist of fire engines, fire crews, and cooperating agencies.
