Sonora, CA….The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted homicide that occurred this afternoon in Sonora. At 3:48 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a nearby resident reporting a fight and hearing several gun shots coming from a home in the area. Deputies responded to the 21000 block of Crestview Drive and found a 63-year-old man in front of his home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics arrived and transported the man to an air ambulance where he was flown to a Modesto hospital for treatment. 54-year-old Karen Caster, who also lived in the home was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for attempted murder and inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances which led up to the shooting.
