Red Cross Opens Evacuation Center in Valley Springs in Response to Waverly Fire

Valley Springs, CA…At the request of the Calaveras County Office of Emergency services, the American Red Cross has opened an evacuation center at Jenny Lind Elementary School, 5100 Driver Road, in Valley Springs for residents evacuating the Waverly fire. The Waverly Fire is located off North Waverly Road and North Shelton Road, east of Linden.

Volunteers are providing shelter, food, water, mental health services, health services and casework for clients as needed.

The Red Cross urges everyone to follow evacuation orders from local law enforcement and have an emergency kit ready for any disaster.
