Murphys, CA…The Bill Welles Band will be the featured performers when the Murphys Community Club’s popular First Fridays in the Park series continues on Friday, August 3, 5:30 p.m. The local band plays a variety of musical styles including Americana, blues, folk and rock and roll. With Welles on guitar, Larry Drummond on mandolin, Ron Schaner on bass, Ray Price on Drums and Fred Treece on guitar the group aims to “create an experience that lifts your spirits and takes you home to your heart.” The members share the vocal chores.

During the summer months, First Fridays in the Park presents a variety of musical groups playing in, or near, the familiar gazebo starting at 5:30 p.m. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of good music in the cool confines of Murphys Community Park. Food and beverages are available to purchase and each event has a community sponsor.

The August meal is being offered by Sierra Hills Market and Lila & Sage.

There is no admission charge and ample free parking is available nearby. Donations to help maintain the park are always gratefully received.
