Bring blankets, low-back chairs, wine, dinner and yourselves. We have to admit, we’re crazy about the songs of Jimbo Scott and Grover Anderson. These two northern California singer/songwriters have joined forces for a folk-based act that includes rock and roll, blues, bluegrass, and straight up folk. With strong, clear vocals and tight harmonies, they sound like big bells when they start to sing.

Jimbo was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Oakland, CA, while Grover grew up in the gold rush town of Murphys, CA. Though their journeys have been very different, both upbringings were steeped in traditions of folk, roots, country, bluegrass and rock. After sampling each others’ music at the open mic, they began holding a weekly jam session, and in time wrote their first song together, “Pick Up Your Horn,” an anthem we should all adopt.

Give them a listen at their website (we suggest Scott’s “Parklands” and Anderson’s “The Lampolier”, but don’t miss their concert! Live music is always better.

And remember, there’s no admission charge.
