Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Office…”Sunday morning was far from quiet for us. One of our deputies stopped a car near Springfield and Shaws Flat Road in Sonora for several vehicle code violations. That stop turned into a major bust.
The driver, 35-year-old James St. Louis of Glendive, MT, admitted having several loaded guns in the car. St. Louis said one of the guns was his, and the second one might be “hot”. Deputies then searched the car and found over two pounds of methamphetamine.
In addition to the drugs we discovered a total of three unregistered handguns in the vehicle, two of which were loaded.
St. Louis and his passenger, 37 year old Nicole Smith of Sacramento, were arrested on charges of possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale. St. Louis faces additional charges of possessing a large capacity magazine, possessing a concealed weapon, and possessing a controlled substance while armed. Smith was also booked on an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Tuolumne County.
We are grateful the methamphetamine and illegal guns are off the streets!”
