Sonora, CA…At approximately 1740 hours, Mr. Williams was driving his 2006 Buick Rendezvous southbound on SR-49 approaching the intersection of Old Sonora Columbia Rd. A that time, a 69 year old Sonora man was riding his electric bicycle, without a helmet, southbound, along the right roadway edge line just ahead of the Buick. From the hand edge of the roadway, the bicyclist made a left turn towards Old Sonora Columbia Rd, directly into the path of the Buick. Mr. Williams took evasive action, but was unable to avoid a collision with the rider and his electric bicycle. The collision propelled the man into the air before landing in the roadway.
