Mi-Wuk Village, CA….From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”Update Sept.12th: Deputies were dispatched to the area of Pine Lake Dr. in Mi-Wuk Village for a report of suspicious person, shooting. Two shots were heard by deputies while on scene. A civilian contacted our office while deputies were on scene and advised the man, later identified as 68-year-old Frank Pierro, pointed a rifle at him as he drove by.
After an extensive search was conducted, Pierro was located behind a residence and pointed his firearm at a deputy. Pierro was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of two loaded firearms. A security sweep was conducted of Pierro’s residence and damage resulting from gunshots was found. The damage also indicated a shot was fired at a neighboring residence.
During the service of a search warrant at Pierro’s home, multiple firearms, ammunition, and a baggy containing methamphetamine was collected. Pierro was arrested and booked for negligently discharging a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a gun, under the influence of a controlled substance,and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer.
We are thankful the situation ended peacefully with no injuries.

The man believed to be the responsible has been detained. Deputies are still on scene investigating the incident.
