Valley Springs, CA…On 9-17-18 at approx. 0815 hours CCSO Deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Highway 26 for reports of an altercation between a male and two females. Upon arrival Deputies spoke with two females (age 21 and 22) who stated they were visiting a male, (s) Nicholas Kohring (age 28 of Valley Springs), at this location and had arrived here after being at a bar out of county the night before. The two females reportedly were prevented from leaving by (s) Kohring who also made threats towards them.
While Deputies were in the preliminary stages of this investigation, a male matching (s) Kohring’s description was seen running shirtless from the back of the residence. Several Deputies attempted to get (s) Kohring to stop with their patrol vehicle lights and air horn but (s) Kohring fled on foot through neighboring yards. Deputies set-up a perimeter and detained (s) Kohring in a field near-by. At the conclusion of the investigation, (s) Kohring was arrested for False Imprisonment 236PC, Criminal Threats 422PC, Battery 242PC, Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance 11550H&S and Resisting/Obstructing/Delaying Officers 148(a)(1)PC. (s) Kohring was booked into the Calaveras County Jail with $125,000 bail. Alcohol consumption and narcotics use is suspected to be a factor in this case.
