West Point, CA..On September 19, 2018 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at an address on Acorn Way in West Point. Several outbuildings at this property near the main residence had been converted for marijuana processing/drying and several bunkhouse living quarters had been constructed. 225 large marijuana plants were eradicated from the site.
Three subjects were arrested at this location for Illegal Marijuana Cultivation 11358(c)H&S, Maintaining/Operating a Drug House/Location 11366H&S, and Criminal Conspiracy 182PC. Kevin Nguyen (33 year old male with Rhode Island identification), Dung Le (57 year old male from Texas), and Ourn San (53 year old male with Massachusetts identification) were all booked into the Calaveras County Jail with $100,000 bail. Additionally, Ourn San was booked for an outstanding extraditable no bail warrant from Alabama for narcotics related charges.
On September 20, 2018 MET Team members served two more unrelated search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation on Blossom Lane in Railroad Flat. At the first location, multiple uncovered hoop houses were found with growing marijuana as well as other areas of cultivation with plants in various stages of growth. No subjects were found at this site. 3330 marijuana plants were eradicated and approx. 589 lbs. of processed marijuana was seized. The investigation into this site and those responsible is continuing.
At the second location down the street, also on Blossom Lane, two subjects were detained upon deputies’ arrival. A motorhome and numerous electrical cords running to various equipment were found around a marijuana grow site. 619 marijuana plants were eradicated from this location. Connor Su (50 year old male from Sacramento) and Nhat Ngo (61 year old male from Elk Grove) were booked into the Calaveras County Jail for Illegal Marijuana Cultivation 11358(c)H&S, Possession for Sale of Marijuana 11359H&S, Maintaining/Operating a Drug House/Location 11366H&S, and Criminal Conspiracy 182PC. Both subjects were booked into the Calaveras County Jail and their bail amounts is still pending.
All cases are still under active investigation. No further information is available at this time.
