Sonora, CA…At 1:04 a.m., this morning, firefighters from the Tuolumne County Fire Department Mono Village Station and CAL FIRE Standard Station were dispatched to a reported Fire Alarm Sounding at Mike’s Pizza of Sonora, 14721 Mono Way. Upon arrival, Engine 511 found the business charged with smoke. Firefighters forced entry into building and extinguished a small fire in the kitchen with the assistance of Engine 4475 and Engine 4485.

Quick, aggressive action by firefighters on scene kept the fire isolated to the kitchen with no extension into the dining area of the restaurant.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
