Sonora, CA…On Thursday morning, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at an apartment on Chukar Circle in Sonora. An alert neighbor reported seeing a man breaking into a second story apartment and throwing items from the balcony. The deputy arrived and saw a man matching the suspect’s description at a nearby unit. When the deputy contacted the suspect, 37-year-old Sean Evans, he took off running but was quickly apprehended. A search of Evans produced methamphetamine hidden in his clothing. Deputies found the backpack containing the stolen jewelry, cash, clothing and important paperwork at an apartment in the same complex belonging to 41-year-old Daniel Oliver and 30-year-old James Tracy Jr.
Inside, deputies found heroin, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Oliver and Tracy were arrested and admitted to selling heroin and methamphetamine from their apartment. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owner and Evans, Oliver and Tracy were booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
Evans was booked on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
Oliver and Tracy Jr. were booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, maintaining a drug house and conspiracy. Tracy Jr. was found to have hidden drugs in his person during a search at the jail and now faces an additional charge of bringing drugs into a detention facility.
