Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! 22″ of new snow overnight! 41″ for the current storm total and well……….another possible 17-23″ is expected today. The overnight temps hovered right around 28F all night so snow fall elevations rose a bit but we should see that fall today to around 6-6500′. Max gusts last night at the Ski lodge were 29mph so quite a bit lower than the projected values. Winds today will be in the 20’s mostly with possible gusts into the mid 30’s and with the expected snowfall it’s sure to be a pow riding day. Tonight another 3-7″ is expected before the system tapers and bring a partly sunny day on Saturday and then another shot of snow for Sunday. High pressure ridging looks to return early next week and will be dry and above normal temps for that time frame. Drifting snow and bigger accumulations will be seen with redistribution on the micro and macro levels so inbounds resort skiing/riding can feel deeper in some areas than other through this cycle. This a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.
