Columbia, CA…Last night deputies attempted to stop a green Honda Accord on Yankee Hill Road in Columbia for expired registration. As soon as the driver spotted the deputy, he took off. The deputy caught up with the vehicle and noticed it had slid off the roadway and collided into a metal gate in front of a home. As the deputy pulled his patrol car behind the Honda, the driver put his car in reverse and accelerated, slamming into the patrol car before taking off and leading the deputies in a pursuit. The driver later identified as 35-year-old Christopher Snyder of Sonora, stopped the car in a driveway on Glory Gulch Road and took off on foot. He is now wanted for evading, driving on a suspended license due to DUI, and assault with a deadly weapon.
