Mountain Ranch, CA…On 1-16-19 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 9000 block of Wendell Road, Mountain Ranch. Upon arrival deputies detained the solo occupant of the residence. One of the outbuildings on the property was found to have been converted for indoor marijuana cultivation.

Deputies seized 583 marijuana plants and located a large commercial sized generator in use inside one of the structures. 23 year old Jose Fernandez-Zavala was arrested on scene and booked in to the Calaveras County Jail on charges of 11366H&S-Maintaining a Drug House, 182(a)(1)PC-Criminal Conspiracy, and 11358(c)H&S-Illegal Marijuana Cultivation with $50,000 bail. No further information is available at this time.
