Hey Good People!! Pure Mountain Grizzly Bowl Fun Awaits This Week!! ~ Mattly Trent

Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! A brisk 20F at 5am will give way to a beautiful sunny day out on the Mountain. MLK Day was off the hook with superb skiing and riding and 8% density snow!!!! The high today should come in around 37F and the surface pressure gradient will tighten up and bring winds into the mid teens to lower 20’s with gusts into 30’s possibly. High pressure will reign for the next week so beautiful sunny days are ahead with awesome conditions all over the mountain. The big picture is the Grizz Bowl………Ski Patrol did control work down there yesterday and will be getting things ready to open which could happen as early high noon today. We will start with the Grizz gate only at first then open others as we get boundaries set etc…. With winds out of the ENE last night and the 50mph gusts some wind transportation took place so another round of Avalanche Control this morning could delay that potential opening time. “Bear” with us as these kind of wind slab conditions take some deeper looks as they warrent attention and control work. This is a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

Today
Sunny, with a high near 37. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Tonight
Mostly clear, with a low around 27. East northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Peace Out,

Mattly
