Winter Storm Warnings & .Hazardous Mountain Travel Continues Through Tuesday

Arnold, CA…Additional winter storms will bring periods of dangerous mountain travel from heavy snow and gusty wind through Tuesday. White out conditions are possible along with chain controls, long travel delays, and even road closures. Travel into the high country is strongly discouraged through early next week. Snow levels are expected to lower to 3500 to 5000 feet today impacting the Coastal Range, as well as the Sierra Nevada. A colder storm arrives Monday and Tuesday brining heavy mountain snow and strong winds to the higher elevations. Significant snow possible in the foothills Monday into Tuesday.

* WHAT…Heavy snow occurring. Travel will be very difficult to
impossible. Tree branches could fall as well. Additional snow
accumulations up to 5 feet expected, with localized amounts up
to 9 feet.

* WHERE…Western Plumas County/Lassen Park and West Slope
Northern Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN…Until 4 PM Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Strong wind gusts up to 60 mph or higher
possible over higher terrain at times leading to white out
conditions.
