Vehicles vs Pedestrian Collision on Hwy 108 Takes Life of Sonora Woman

Sonora, CA…21 year old Sonora resident, Timothy Hollis, was traveling eastbound SR-108 east of Stockton Road at approximately 50 mph, in a 2016 Chyrsler 200. 28 year old Chinese Camp resident, Glenn Gray, was traveling westbound SR-108 east of Stockton Road at approximately 50 mph, in a 2018 Ford F-350. A 36 year old female pedestrian from Sonora was on the south shoulder of SR-108. The pedestrian ran from the shoulder into the eastbound lane in an attempt to cross SR-108.

Hollis applied his vehicle’s brakes but was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian as she ran directly in front of his vehicle. The impact caused the pedestrian to become airborne and she flew into the westbound lane, where she was struck by the front of Gray’s vehicle.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.
