Murphys, CA…An exuberant ticket holder will experience firsthand the luck of the Irish when he or she is declared winner of the grand prize in this year’s Win a Trip for Two to Ireland raffle as part of the Murphys Irish Day celebration that will be held on St. Patrick’s Day eve, Saturday, March 16. Along with a traveling companion, the winner will be transported from a gold rush town with Irish heritage to the fabled land of shamrocks and leprechauns. The coveted prize offers the travelers flexibility in creating their own itinerary. They will enjoy their first night in a pre-booked accommodation in Dublin or Shannon and then spend the next five nights in Irish Bed & Breakfasts sprinkled throughout the countryside. The couple will have daily home cooked Irish breakfasts. Air transportation and a standard shift rental car are included.
The Murphys Business Association has contracted with Above & Beyond Travel to book this trip. As is usually the case, some restrictions apply. Specially created Murphys area packages will be awarded to two runners-up. The first includes a two nights stay from Murphys Vacation Rental, dinner for two at the Murphys Irish Pub, lunch for two at Grounds, and kayak rental from Sierra Nevada Adventure Co.
The other package will provide a unique afternoon experience for six people. The winners will hike with delightful miniature donkeys through Aloria Vineyards, sample wine and cheese, and enjoy the beautiful views of the vineyard overlooking New Melones Reservoir.
Raffle tickets are five dollars each or five for $20. They are available through March 15 at the Calaveras Visitors Bureau in Angels Camp, and many locations in Murphys including Creative Cookware, The Spice Tin, Marisolio Olive Oils, Calaveras Wine Grape Alliance, Irish Vineyards, Murphys Hotel, Next – Upscale Resale, and Sierra Nevada Adventure Company. They also will be available at the Business Association booth in front of the Native Sons Hall on the day of the event.
All Irish Day volunteers will receive one raffle ticket for each shift worked. To volunteer contact Tonja Peterson at 743-5717 or tonjapeterson@gmail.com
The winning tickets will be drawn on Saturday, March 16, as part of the Murphys Irish Day Celebration. The winner need not be present.
