Mokelumne Hill, CA…On 3-18-2019 at approximately 1020hrs the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report and responded to an industrial accident in a rural area outside of Mokelumne Hill. The industrial accident involved a county employee who was working in the area. The reporting party advised that a subject working in the area had been seriously injured.

Deputies, medics and fire agencies responded to the scene. Personnel on scene attempted to render aid to the victim of the accident. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office has received information the next of kin has been notified. Please contact the Coroner for victim information.

Several agencies are working to determine the cause of the accident and the fatality.
