.A Pacific frontal system if forecast to move into northern
California Friday morning with higher elevation snow expected
over the Sierra Cascade range Friday afternoon. The heaviest
snowfall is expected Friday night with a transition to showers
during the day on Saturday. Several inches of snow are expected
from Friday night through Saturday afternoon with up to 1 foot of
snow expected at the highest elevations. Mountain travel impacts
are likely during this time. Carry tire chains if planning
mountain travel this weekend and check the latest road and weather
departs before departure.
