San Andreas, CA…Carmen Romona Giuffra, 78, peacefully passed in to the Gates of Heaven with her children by her side on March 17 2019 in San Andreas. Carmen married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Gerald, in 1959 and they went on to have two loving children. Carmen lived in Calaveras County for 50 years where she worked at Mark Twain Hospital for 33 years: In 2008 the Hospital recognized her hard work by naming the kitchen and cafeteria “Carmen’s Cafe”. Carmen retired in 2010 to enjoy time with her family. Carmen’s love for cooking and family made every occasion special.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, grandson and devoted husband of 43 years, Gerald. Carmen is survived by her son Jerry (Kathy) Giuffra, daughter Debbie Sellick, grandchildren, Jerry, James, Jake, Mario, Rosie and Angie Great-grandchildren Junior, Angelina, Jonathan, Christopher, Paityn, Reana and Drake. Carmen will be remembered as a bright shining star and a kindred spirit.

Services will be held at Saint Andrews Catholic Church in San Andreas on April 6, 2019. Rosary at 9:30, Mass at 10:00. Our family sends gratitude to all the staff at Bristol Hospice and Avalon Health Care for their loving care of Carmen.
