Traffic Update….Hwy 26 Estimated to Reopen at 5pm Today

West Point, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) expects to reopen eastbound and westbound State Route 26 (SR-26) on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. The repairs were needed to fix damage from a powerful winter storm that swamped Calaveras County on February 14, 2019.The closure was required to repair damage from multiple washouts that damaged the roadway.

One-way traffic control will be in effect beginning Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to complete shoulder work and striping. There may be some additional work the week of April 14-20, 2019, but otherwise the project will be concluded and traffic control will be lifted entirely as soon as these remaining items are finalized.
