Sonora, CA…From the Sonora Police Dept…”A federal judge has sentenced a 50-year-old David E. Otto to 15 years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for contacting, grooming and sexually exploiting girls via social media. Otto, a resident of Tigard Oregon, was determined to have been exploiting young girls across the country on social media. The investigation began in November of 2016 when the parent of a 14-year-old girl called the Sonora Police Department to report they believed an adult male was sending sexually explicit messages to her daughter via social media.

Officer Mallon spent the next several weeks investigating, writing multiple search warrants and reviewing documents. He eventually tracked the IP address to David E. Otto in Oregon. Officer Mallon also discovered that Otto was having similar inappropriate internet communications with other teens across the country prompting him to collaborate with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Agents arrested Otto on January 31st, at his Oregon home, and through search warrants, discovered additional evidence connecting him to his crimes.”
