Rail Road Flat, CA…Calaveras County Department of Public Works crews have opened Independence Road ahead of schedule. Please be advised that some areas of Independence Road only have access for one-way traffic and Public Works requests that drivers reduce their speed and use caution throughout the area.

Public Works staff is working with California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on multiple 2019 Winter Storms Disaster Projects throughout Calaveras County.
