Jamestown, CA…On May 2, 2019 at approximately 10:00 pm, Justin Michael Blanchard, a 20-year-old male out of Stockton, was standing next to his bicycle near the white edge line for the southbound lane of State Route 49, south of Charbroullian Road. At that time, a vehicle, described possibly as a gold or light colored Lexus or similar sedan, was traveling southbound on State Route 49, south of Charbroullian Road. The vehicle struck Mr. Blanchard’s bicycle causing the bicycle to strike Mr. Blanchard. After the collision, the vehicle that struck the bicycle continued southbound on State Route 49.

Mr. Blachard suffered minor injuries and was transported by Tuolumne County Ambulance to Adventist Health of Sonora for treatment. It is unknown if the driver of the involved vehicle knew they had stuck something. We are asking that anybody who has any information regarding this collision or if they feel they may have unknowingly struck Mr. Blanchard’s bicycle to contact Sonora Area CHP Officer Harrington at (209) 984-3944.
