Twain Harte, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Office…”A large law enforcement presence was seen yesterday at ACE Hardware in Twain Harte. Just after 5:30 PM, our office received a report of a shooting at the hardware store with numerous people running about.

Multiple Sheriff’s Office units, CHP, Fire and EMS responded to Twain Harte Drive. Law enforcement blocked the road to the business and a perimeter was made around the building. A search was conducted and it was determined that no shooting had occurred . The reporting person, 23-year-old Daniel Scott, was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine. Scott was transported to the CHP Sonora Office where an evaluation was conducted.

Scott was subsequently arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance and for filing a false police report.”
