Mokelumne Hill, CA…On 5/5/2019, at approximately 7:50am Anthony Perez, 27 from Riverside was descending SR-49 NB, toward the Amador/Calaveras County line. He was driving between 35-45 MPH in a commercial vehicle as he approached a curve with a 30 MPH warning sign. As as the 2017 Freightliner continued through the curve, due to the speed, the truck overturned onto its left side. As the truck slid to a stop it after it collided with the guard rail.

SR-49 was closed from Mokelumne Hill to Jackson for approximately 4 hours to investigate the collision and remove the involved vehicle.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in this collision.
