Suspect Captured After Search in Burson

Burson, CA…On May 22, 2019, at about 11:45 AM Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway on South Burson RD near Hwy 12, Burson. Deputies attempted to contact driver of the vehicle however, as they approached, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies recognized the driver as Johnny Sullivan (35, San Andreas) who had a valid felony warrant for his arrest. Deputies quickly set up a perimeter and requested additional units.

Units from CHP, Angels Camp Police Department (K-9), Cal Fire Prevention Officer, and additional Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist in searching the area. ACPD K-9 was deployed and tracked the suspect to a nearby residence. The suspect was eventually located inside the residence and taken into custody without further incident. A search of Sullivan’s vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia (pipes and hypodermic needles) and a usable amount of methamphetamine.

Johnny Sullivan was arrested and transported to the county jail and booked 148(a) PC (resisting arrest), 11364H&S possession of drug paraphernalia, 11377(a) H&S (possession of methamphetamine) and 603 PC (unlawful entry into a residence). He is being held without bail.
