Lil Abner is the Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Abner, a longhaired, blue Chihuahua mix estimated to be between 5 and 6 years of age. Abner was found abandoned in a vacant home with two other dogs. When a neighbor discovered him, he had a puncture wound clear through his body but has since healed nicely. Abner loves to snuggle with volunteers, has nice leash manners and a jaunty strut. He is friendly with all dogs, both large and small, male and female. He takes treats with a soft mouth and may also be housebroken since he keeps his kennel clean. Seven and a half pounds can pack a lot of love and this little guy is no exception.

As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Abner is micro-chipped, has tested negative for heartworm and is up-to-date on his routine vaccinations. Since he is already neutered, this dapper little man is ready to go home with you today!

Come visit Abner impound no. AO49988, along with other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.).
