CHP Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest of Angels Camp Man & Twain Harte Woman

Sonora, CA…On September 9, 2019, at approximately 12:18 am, CHP officers observed a white 2007 Cadillac CTS fail to stop for the posted stop sign at East Avenue and Tuolumne Road North. The Cadillac was being driven by, 52-year-old Joseph McIntyre out of Angels Camp. The Cadillac made a right turn onto southbound Tuolumne Road North from East Avenue and as the CHP officers got closer to the Cadillac, they noticed the left side brake light was not working. The officers made an enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted Mr. McIntyre and his passenger, 28-year-old Shannon Yielding out of Twain Harte.

After questioning Mr. McIntyre, the officers learned he was driving with a suspended California Driver License and he was on probation. A search of his vehicle was performed, which revealed Mr. McIntyre and Ms. Yielding were trying to conceal suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Both Mr. McIntyre and Ms. Yielding were placed under arrest. A second search of the vehicle was performed with the help of Tuolumne County Sheriff K-9 and additional suspected Methamphetamine was located.

Mr. McIntyre and Ms. Yielding were transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession for sales of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
