Sonora, CA…Tuolumne County Deputies made an arrest stemming from a 911 domestic violence call. On Friday morning, a woman called our office to report she was being threatened by several men in the area of Serrano Road and Mono Way in Sonora. The victim reported she was hiding in a white sedan. As deputies headed in that direction, they spotted a vehicle matching the description and tried to pull the car over. The driver led deputies on a chase before turning into a driveway on Serrano Road. At that point, the driver ran off and the car rolled off the edge of the driveway down an embankment before crashing into some brush and trees. The woman and another male passenger were not hurt. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen and the driver, 19-year-old Zachary Richardson, has not yet been found.
It turns out, the woman in the car was the victim who called 911. Deputies arrested 36-year-old Joseph Eastman for domestic battery. Eastman was on searchable probation, out on pre-trial release, and a convicted felon. He was found in possession of tear gas, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Eastman was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on the related charges.
