Murphys, CA…On Sunday October 13th the Bret Harte FFA hosted its’ 30th Annual Cow Pie Social event at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. It was a fun-filled family day with bounce houses, volleyball, balloons for the kids, and the game of cornhole! The Bret Harte FFA Boosters cooked a fabulous meal of BBQ Tri-Tip, famous Beck’s beans, salad & french bread. For the adults, there was a horseshoe tournament and Chicken Chip Bingo game. Cattle were brought to the corral by our very own Ref-Turd-Rees, Dominic Santella and Rowan Perry who were the official judges to determine the winner of the Cow Pie drop. Attendees anxiously waited to see if a cow pie would drop in their square and be a winner of $200, $300, or $1000. The $1000 winner of the 30th annual cow pie drop was Dick Terry. A special thank you goes to Ironstone Vineyards, the Kautz Family and the Bret Harte FFA Boosters for helping to make this annual event a success. We hope everyone will come to see where the Cow Pie drops next year and continue supporting the agricultural youth of the Bret Harte FFA Chapter!
