Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit Postpones Prescribed Burns

San Andreas, CA…The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) planned on conducting three prescribed burns in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties this week. Today, October 21st, 420 acres of grass and oak woodland were successfully burned on the Crook Ranch Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) near Groveland in Tuolumne County.

Due to weather conditions, the prescribed burn on the Whittle Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) site, west of Angels Camp, scheduled for Tomorrow, October 22nd and Wednesday, October 23rd has been postponed until further notice.

We will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions, to determine if the live fire training planned for Thursday, October 24th, will be conducted on the Sardella Ranch in Tuolumne County.
