Sonora, CA…PG&E has announced a potential power safety shutoff starting between 6 and 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 26. Adventist Health Sonora is ready with backup power generators and will continue to care for our community. At this time, we are preparing for normal operations on Monday but will continue to evaluate the situation throughout the weekend. If power remains off through Sunday night, some outpatient services planned for Monday may have to be postponed. We will contact patients if their appointments must be rescheduled.

Services that will be available include:
• Emergency Department – with limited diagnostic capability
• Medical Surgical
• Birth Center
• Intensive Care Unit
• Surgery
• Long Term Care
• *Medical Offices (some clinics will be open, patients will be contacted if their appointment needs to be rescheduled)
• Home Health
• Hospice
• *Pharmacy (Community Pharmacy Greenley Road and Stockton Street during normal business hours)
Special note for clients of Sonora Oxygen Supply:
The warehouse will be open on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for cylinder exchanges. After 1 p.m., the on-call technician will be available for emergencies and back-up tanks. If the power goes out Saturday evening, the warehouse will be open on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and available for cylinder exchanges. The on-call technician will be available after 4:30 p.m. Due to the volume of requests for backup cylinders, we request that if you are able to transport cylinders or have a family member or friend who can transport cylinders to our warehouse, please do so. This will allow us to direct our resources to the patients who are homebound or cannot transport cylinder. Please note, Sonora Oxygen is able to provide oxygen for current patients or patients with a valid prescription only.
At this time, make sure to prepare yourself and your household in the event of a power shutoff. Gas up your vehicles, have cash on hand, have adequate water and non-perishable foods, make sure prescriptions are filled, and make sure you have a plan for backup power for medical devices.
We will release updates as we know more. Information is also available from PG&E at pge.com/safety.
