Murphys, CA…Celebrate Día de los Muertos 2019 in Murphys, California! Kick off your weekend Friday evening with Murphys 1st annual Dia de los Muertos Cultural Symposium. Learn about the history of Dia de los Muertos; its cultural traditions, art, dancing, music and food. Symposium activities include Family Ofrendas, Artist inspired Coco Figures by Marlene Zamora, Aztec Dancers Kalpulli Ketzalkoatl Ehacatl, Music by Pedro Sermeño and a lecture by noted Spanish Professor Emeritus Dr. Jorge Santana. Tapas Menu will include Chicken Tamalitos, Champurrado, Quesadilla (Salvadorian bread). Suggested donation is $10. Wine sales will help support the Murphys Old Schoolhouse renovation project.
