November 1, 2019 – 1st Annual Dia de los Muertos Cultural Symposium – California! Kick off your weekend Friday evening with Murphys 1st annual Dia de los Muertos Cultural Symposium. Learn about the history of Dia de los Muertos; its cultural traditions, art, dancing, music and food. Symposium activities include Family Ofrendas, Artist inspired Coco Figures by Marlene Zamora, Aztec Dancers Kalpulli Ketzalkoatl Ehacatl, Music by Pedro Sermeño and a lecture by noted Spanish Professor Emeritus Dr. Jorge Santana. Tapas Menu will include Chicken Tamalitos, Champurrado, Quesadilla (Salvadorian bread). Suggested donation is $10. Wine sales will help support the Murphys Old Schoolhouse renovation project. November 2, 2019 – Murphys Dia de los Muertos – Celebrate the Day of the Dead in the Land of the Skulls. Murphys businesses and tasting rooms will be celebrating their 10th annual Day of the Dead again this year with traditional decorations, treats and celebrations between 11am and 6pm. Join us in celebrating the lives of those who have passed but are with us in heart and spirit on this day. November 3, 2019 – Pints with Pups at the Pourhouse – Tails are taking over the Murphys Pourhouse on Sunday, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm! Pints with Pups, presented by FOAC’s Dog House, will be a tail waggin good time for dogs and their owners. MW Fidography will be here to snap pictures of you and your pup. FOAC will be on site with information and adoptable dogs and kitties. All while sitting back and enjoying brews from Bike Dog Brewing out of Sacramento. We will also be donating 100% of the profits to FOAC from the draft sales of Bike Dog Brewing’s Zebra Pants and Dog Years – two fantastic IPAs.
