West Point, CA…The driver was driving his vehicle eastbound on State Route 26 west of Niderost Lane, at an unknown speed. The 65 year old West Point man for an unknown reason allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway onto the north shoulder of State Route 26. He unsafely turned to the left, and the vehicle spun out of control across both lanes of traffic, before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree. Following the impact the with a tree, the vehicle overturned and came to rest north of the roadway, on it’s left side.

The driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. This collision is still under investigation, and the use of alcohol and/or drugs is currently under investigation.
