Angels Camp, CA…Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, the District Mechanic/Bus Driver will supervise and participate in maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-powered District and contracted equipment; oversee and evaluate the maintenance of all District road equipment to assure safety and efficiency; assist in the development and evaluation of preventative maintenance programs; and schedule all equipment for all types of repairs. Bus driving duties include operating a school bus over designated rural, mountainous routes while transporting students safely and efficiently to the school sites or to co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.

Certificates: For Bus Driver: Valid Class B/Passenger Endorsement/Current DMV Physical/CHP Special Certificate
Work Year: 260 days; 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Bus duties are subbing as needed.
Start Date: Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year
Salary: Range 16, $20.27-$22.30; Depending On Experience

DESCRIPTION

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, and trade school courses.
Experience:
• Five years of journeyman-level experience as an automotive mechanic, including work with diesel engines.
• Must possess a valid California Vehicle Operator’s License that authorizes operating a school bus.
• Must possess CPR and First Aid Certificates.
• Requires vision (which may be corrected) to read small print.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Possession of a valid Class I California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
• Possession of a medical examiner’s certificate.
• Maintain insurability by the District liability insurance carrier.
• Subject to emergency call back and random drug and alcohol testing
