Handsome Jack is Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Jack, an incredibly handsome shorthaired orange tabby junior. A big boy at almost ten pounds with some growing left to do, Jack is at the shelter because he was abandoned by his former owner. A terrific all around kitty, Jack loves people, adores attention and enjoys the company of other feline friendly kitties. He likes being held and still has some kitten playfulness left in him. We are confident he will be a good fit with most any loving household.

As with all cats available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Jack is up-to-date on his routine vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. He will need to be neutered before going home with you.

Come visit Jack, impound no. AO50325, and other cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). For more information about this kitty, please email Animal Services volunteer Cynthia at clpino@caltel.com, Kathy at kbandy.co.calaveras.ca.us or call Animal Services directly at 754-6509. Please refer to Jack’s impound number when making inquiries. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.

Volunteers also are desperately needed. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we could use your help caring for shelter animals or in the office. No experience necessary; we will provide training and match you to your interests. Please call 754-6509 for more information.

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
