Savannah is a Delightful, Tabby that Would Love to Adopt You! Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Savannah, a delightful shorthaired brown “ticked” young adult tabby. Sleek, agile and petite, Savannah has an exotic look similar to an Abyssinian. She was a teen-aged mom but her kittens are now weaned and she’s ready to give up motherhood for a life as someone’s darling. Savannah is affectionate, gentle and enjoys attention but she is not necessarily one to cuddle. She does, however, adore people and other feline-friendly cats. We feel she would do well in a household with another kitty with which to play along with a human family who will provide lots of love and attention.

As with all cats available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Savannah is up-to-date on her routine vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. Best of all, she has been spayed and is ready to go home with you today.

Come visit Savannah, impound no. AO50418, and other cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). For more information about this kitty, please email Animal Services volunteer Cynthia at clpino@caltel.com, Kathy at kbandy.co.calaveras.ca.us or call Animal Services directly at 754-6509. Please refer to Savannah’s impound number when making inquiries. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.

Volunteers are also desperately needed. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we could use your help caring for shelter animals or in the office. No experience necessary; we will provide training and match you to your interests. Please call 754-6509 for more information.

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
