Search Warrant Yields Drugs and Burglary Suspect

Valley Springs, CA…On January 29th, 2020 at about 8:00 AM Calaveras County Investigators served a search warrant in the Castle Rock Mobile Home Park, Valley Springs. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation regarding identity theft and the fraudulent use of identity to obtain goods or services at 7 different locations in Calaveras and Stanislaus Counties.

While executing the warrant Investigators located evidence that linked Suspect Joseph Robert Westbrook (25 Year Old Valley Springs) to at least 2 different confirmed burglaries in the Valley Springs area; Senders Hardware (Valley Springs) on 01/14/20 and The Laundry Mart (Valley Springs) on 10/24/19.

In addition to evidence of the aforementioned burglaries, 44.3 Grams of Methamphetamine, 3 methamphetamine pipes and 13 Xanax pills without a prescription were located and seized during the service of the search warrant. Westbrook was arrested and booked into the county jail. He is being held with a bail of $110,000.00.

The Investigators are evaluating and processing multiple items of evidence seized during the search warrant. This investigation is ongoing at this time. No further information is available.
