San Andreas, CA…Meet Ginger, a Pitbull mix estimated to be about one year of age. As smart as they come, Ginger has already learned “sit,” “down” and “high five.” She loves to chase her squeaky ball and usually returns it for more play. She is progressing well on a leash and stays focused on walks though she still pulls a bit, something that can be corrected with more training. Initially Ginger did not like being touched around her face or head but is beginning to accept more handling as we gain her trust. Quiet and attentive, Ginger does not bark and may be housebroken as she keeps her kennel clean. Though eager to play with other dogs, Ginger would likely do best as an only dog since she can be overly enthusiastic in her greetings. We’re confident that she will make a wonderful companion for that special person or family who can provide a firm but gentle hand.
As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Ginger is micro-chipped and up-to-date on routine vaccinations. She will need to be spayed before going home with you.
